Gowes to Blaydon

Calton Hill
Calton Hill is one of the main hill in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Calton Hill is a hill in central Edinburgh and included in the city's UNESCO
World Heritage Site. Views of, and from, the hill are often used in photographs
and paintings of the city. The view is so beautiful. I was speechles to see the
amazing view. A must visit place while in Edinburgh. Calton Hill has beautiful
structures and a stunning view of the city and the bay.

Discovery Museum
In March 2016, our family time was visited discovery museum.
Discovery Museum is housed in the old Co-operative Wholesale Society building,
Blandford House. Opening in 1899, it quickly became an iconic building in
Newcastle city centre. Blandford House became a museum in 1978 and was
re-launched as Discovery Museum in 1993. The displays are regularly updated and
complemented by an array of free, fun learning activities and a changing
programme of exhibitions. This museum is free entry. It's very interesting and
fun place. Kakang ara and Naima enjoyed watching and playing around in
Discovery Museum. One of must visited place in Newcastle.
One of the favourite exhibits - Turbinia - dominates the entrance
to the Museum. Invented on Tyneside, it is the first ship to be powered by a
steam turbine. The 35 metre vessel was once the fastest ship in the world and
her history is brought to life in the Turbinia Story display. She sets the
standard for a day out that is guaranteed to be filled with breath-taking
discoveries.
There's also photo booth where the children can dress up like sailor, army, princess and so on

Mother's Day
In Indonesia mother's day celebrated on December 22nd. In UK, mothers day celebrated on March 6th. Every pupil made card for their mother. :)
The World Book Day
This was our activity with Kakang Ara in Moorside Primary
Schools. Parents/Carer are invited to come into school and share books along
with our children in order to celebrate The world book day.
The world book day is celebrated on 3rd March every year.
It’s already 19th year there’s been a world book day and I had never heard the
world book day before. The world book day is a celebration of authors,
illustrators, book and the most importantly it’s celebration of reading. The
main aim to encourage children to explore the pleasure of books and reading.
Children are given a book voucher that entitles them to a £1 book available
from most book shops and supermarket.
While studying in UK, every week Ara is given homework to
read a book and tell friends what book is all about. So simple homework :)
I wish I could encourage my children to love books and reading.
The schools in UK also encourage parents/Carer to support
our children reading at home. Let's read :)
